Smoking turkey…Dry rub blends?


Anyone have any good dry rub blend recipes for smoking meats. Any meats but turkey especially.

    I havent personally tried this yet..but it looks great..and comes very highly recommended

    INGREDIENTS
    1/2 cup paprika
    3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
    5 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
    6 tablespoons garlic powder
    3 tablespoons onion powder
    6 tablespoons salt
    2 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
    2 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
    DIRECTIONS
    In a medium bowl, combine the paprika, cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, oregano, and thyme. Mix well, and store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.

  • Krissy Krinkle:

    “All-purpose Spice Blend”

    1 tbsp. dry mustard
    1 tbsp. onion powder
    1 tbsp. paprika
    1 1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. dried thyme
    1/2 tsp. dried basil

    Mix and store in an airtight dispenser.

    “All That Jazz Seasoning” (Cajun Flavor) – 1 cup

    1/4 cup garlic powder
    1/4 cup onion powder
    2 tbsp. paprika
    1 tbsp. ground red pepper
    1 tbsp. ground black pepper
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seeds
    1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. lemon pepper
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

    Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container.

  • Firelite:

    I’ve tried this one and it’s good but it’s more of a paste than dry. I found it stayed on better though.

    Citrus-Rosemary Turkey Rub

    Be sure to mix the ingredients well and to get the rub under the skin as well as placing it on the surface of the turkey.

    * 1/4 cup fresh rosemary leaves
    * 6-8 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
    * zest of one orange
    * zest of one lemon
    * 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
    * 1 tablespoon orange or lemon juice
    * 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
    * 1 teaspoon salt
    * 1 teaspoon black pepper

    PREPARATION:
    Place all ingredients in food processor container and process until blended. If not using right away, place in airtight container and refrigerate.

    This is a great all purpose rub with loaded with herbs, spices, and flavor.

    INGREDIENTS:

    * 1/4 cup sugar
    * 2 tablespoons paprika
    * 1 tablespoon onion powder
    * 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
    * 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
    * 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
    * 1/2 tablespoon lemon pepper
    * 1 tablespoon sage, dried
    * 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
    * 1/2 teaspoon rosemary, dried
    * 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    PREPARATION:
    Mix and store.
